Searching For Our Better Angels

ONSITE and on Zoom, and Facebook LIVE. “We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory…when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” Abraham Lincoln

This quote from Abraham Lincoln is a call for us to seek out our best selves, and enter into the deeply compassionate work of responsible citizenship. Huntington Beach, CA has been Rev. Rayna’s home for almost 50 years. Newly elected City Council members have voted to rescind the flying of the Rainbow Flag, challenged state fair-housing mandates, and criticized the local Interfaith Council’s introductory prayers as ‘political statements’. With other citizens, Rev. Rayna has been a part of the actions and protests to save the soul of her city and make it a welcoming place for all.
