“Beauty as well as Bread:” A May Day Service

Click here to watch a video of the Service.  The naturalist John Muir once wisely observed in his book “The Yosemite”: “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike.” On this May Day, we reflect on the Soul Matters theme of “Nurturing Beauty” with Small Group Facilitator Laura Scully and Rev. Lissa. Children and youth join festivities beyond the trees. Beltane marks the height of Spring and celebrates the Earth bursting with new life. The veil thins and we make faery houses to welcome them. Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit are honored through activities. Come join Julie and David James for a traditional Maypole dance after Worship service. Rejoice with us!.
