RE July Announcement

It’s summertime! Without a doubt we all deserve some well-earned down time.

I hope that as a member of our Religious Village you were able to witness how remarkably well our youth fared during this past year. Our RE Sunday was a rousing success and we were able to take advantage of the digital format and embellish the class presentations.

Congratulations to our 2021 Bridgers! Miles, Kayleen and Abby, remember that you will always have a spiritual home here at UUCLB. Let the yellow roses guide you back home.

This year all of the RE families, teachers and committee members were invited to enjoy ice cream and fruit juice popsicles under the structure after worship, and most pleasurably get reacquainted with the playground! There was swinging and climbing and sliding. Joy and laughter graced the grounds once again. We look forward to everyone in our congregation being able to join us next year. Little by little, we are slowly, and assuredly, coming back!

After Pride Worship and during the Pride Celebration, youth resumed a summer favorite, tie-dying with rainbow colors! The young at heart were also invited to participate

Kayleen attended virtual GA as a young adult. We can’t wait to hear back about what fun, exciting and nurturing events she participated in. It’s been a little while since we’ve had a teen representative.

As Religious Education programming takes a break during the month of July, I hope that families are able to safely visit with friends and relatives. May your love tanks get filled to the brim, and safe social interactions rejuvenate your spirit and soul. A takeaway from the LREDA (Liberal Religious Educators Association) Professional conference I attended was “self care is not optional, it is a required response.” Please, please give yourselves that gift!

Religious Education activities and our Faith in Action Backpack Project will resume outdoors on August 15th. RE classes are scheduled to resume inside of the classrooms beginning Sept 26th. May we continue to be graceful with one another as we learn how to be together again.

Blessed Be,
