California is now offering a FEMA financed meal program “great-plates-delivered” to support adults 65 and older plus adults 60-64 who are at high risk from COVID-19, in staying home and staying healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day. It also provides essential economic stimulus to local businesses and workers struggling to stay afloat during the COVID crisis.
The program is administered by our local governments. Seniors who want meals can call their city’s/county’s administrator to sign-up. Here are number of program administrators for our cities and counties.:
- City of Los Angeles (Dept of Aging Hotline): 213-263-5226, 9am-5pm
- Los Angeles County: 1-800-510-2020, call 211 or learn about other food support
- Orange County (Info/Referral Contact Center): 714-480-6450
