The annual memorial service for people who have died while experiencing homelessness will be held Saturday, December 21, at 6:00 PM, on the shortest day/longest night of the year. This multi-faith service will include prayer, reflection and remembrance, musical performances by local artists, and light refreshment. The service will culminate in the reading of the names and lighting of candles for each person who has died.
As in recent years, this moving service will be held outdoors at Forest Lawn, Long Beach, 1500 San Antonio Drive, 90807. If you wish to register in advance, go to the website for the Long Beach Area Coalition for the Homeless, which sponsors the service, and find December 21 on their calendar.
