Going forward with efforts to stem climate change.

Feeling depressed because the US has withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accord? Take heart! Real solutions to the climate crisis are happening now in California and all over the world. Come learn how you can take part in this progressive movement to abate climate change, and how–withdrawal or not–we’ll always have Paris!

In partnership with Lifespan Religious Education, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach’s Green Team has invited two speakers from Al Gore’s Climate Reality Leadership Corps to help us sort out the post-Paris prognosis. On Thursday, September 14 at 6:00 pm you are invited to have a meal and learn from Marjorie Robertson PhD: Public Health Research Scientist, and Wendy Griffin PhD: Professor Emerita, Cal State University Long Beach, Women and Gender Studies, will present the positive ways that people are using their voices and making everyday choices to tackle the climate crisis.

Dinner starts at 6:30 and program begins at 7:00 pm at UUCLB’s Wylder Hall, 5450 Atherton St., Long Beach.

Additionally, Annie Buchanan and Kevan Velazquez, members of Long Beach 350 and the Long Beach Community Choice Energy Working Group, will explain how an innovative renewable energy plan, authorized by the State of California, will be coming to Long Beach in the very near future.
