On Sunday, October 13, the monthly Social Justice Forum will be an update on housing laws, especially those affecting renters. Beto Lopez, community organizer for the Greater Long Beach Interfaith Community Organization (ICO), will be in the lounge, talking about our city’s new Tenant Relocation policy and new California legislation that opposes rent gouging and supports just cause eviction.
If you’re a renter, come and learn about your new rights. If you don’t rent, but you’re concerned about people who do, come and get updated on these new ordinances and laws. Mr. Lopez will also bring you information about Long Beach’s Inclusionary Housing ordinance, currently making its way through government channels.
ICO is a founding member of the Long Beach Housing Justice Coalition, which has a stake in all of these pieces of legislation…
As usual with the monthly forums, there will be snacks and childcare. The forum starts at 11:30, in the church lounge.
