A Special Day At UUCLB

Sunday, September 9th was indeed a special day at UUCLB, as promised! It was the inauguration of two services. Attendance at both services was about the same (with some members attending both); choirs sang at both services and the piano music was outstanding at both; Wylder Hall was comfortably full; Rev. Marguerite Lovett and our new intern minister, Denis Paul, shared messages and liturgy; congregants brought their water donations from everywhere! Between services, we greeted each other over refreshments. The festive tone was set as we walked onto the grounds with decorative balloons and flowers.

The Second Service Implementation Team is so appreciative of all the good will and hard work that made the morning so successful – first and foremost, our staff, who willingly and with good spirit put in extra time and planning and hours to make this work; our minister, Rev. Marguerite Lovett, our Director of Religious Education, Tamara Casanova Suzuki, our Director and Associate Director of Music, Jim Ruggirello and David DiIorio, our Church Administrator, Pamela Wood Browne, and our Coffee Hostess, Sally Ann Michel. We thank the Worship Committee as well for their many hours preparing for this day and the Ushers, the Greeters, the Membership Table staffers, the Choir (with special thanks to those who sang at both services), the Chalice Guild, the sound crew and so many more who lent a helping hand are also to be thanked! And, not least of all, we want to thank all of you who were able to attend church that Sunday and joyously supported us in this change in our worship. In short – thanks, everybody!
