The Social Action Committee supports and coordinates activities that are relevant to our principles. In 2008 we surveyed our members to ensure that our activities reflected the passions of our congregation. As a result, we are keeping a sharp focus on Peacemaking, Affordable Housing, Local Environmental Issues, Healthcare, Human Rights, Immigration, Gender Issues and Citizen Participation (VOTING!) issues, news and activities.
Social Action Committee Activities:
-
Social issues film series (NEW!)
-
Community peacemaking events
-
Discussion/study groups
-
Drives for food, clothing, etc.
-
Contribution of Sunday offering once a month to organizations focusing on the issues falling under our greater social action “umbrella”
Social Action Opportunities We encourage you to contact any of the people listed below for more information. We also welcome you to attend any of the meetings to find out what we are doing or to present any new ideas.
