ARTIST RECEPTION

pallette-art Saturday September 11;  6 – 8 pm.—

Exhibit Opening -William Kenah Artist

Come join us as Wylder Hall gets transformed into a groovy art lounge for one evening celebrating the wonderful works of William Kenah whose works will grace our space through early October.  Inspired by Rousseau who never had formal art training and by van Gough who never sold a painting, William Kenah finds subjects for his work in the people and things around him.  His favorite print mediums are the linoleum block, the woodblock, etchings and engravings.  In 2009 he worked with the political artist group ASARO in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Currently William has been making masks that draw their inspiration from the wide and diverse community we live in, and whose unofficial symbol—the palm tree—is not even indigenous to the area.  In making his masks, William uses palm fronds as the masks’ substrate, and locally found plant and other materials to create the facial features which reflect influences from Africa, the Pacific Northwest, Oceania and Asia.

We could use some set up, light kitchen, clean up and food preparation help. We are moving to a six week art rotation - volunteer for the Arts and just an hour or so every six weeks will help this space remain lively and beautiful.  Contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Sign Up for a Focus Group

search_road_journey_web2Focus Groups are Meeting September 10 - October 2.

As part of our understanding of the congregation, our Ministerial Search Committee is doing Focus Groups. You are invited to participate!

Your responses and discussions in the Focus Groups will be part of the congregational record. The congregational record will be posted on the web for all interested ministerial candidates to review. What we say about ourselves in the congregational record makes all the differences in which ministers become interested in our church community. A high response rate in the survey and wide participation in the Focus Groups are very important.

Read more here and find out where and when and how to sign up to participated in a Focus Group!

An on-line survey will also be available from September 19-October 4th. A link will be available at uuclb.org at that time. Keep posted!
