Sunday Concert
down-4-the-count

Sunday, February 5, 2:00pm @ Wylder Hall —

The first of four concerts sponsored by our Music and Arts Committee. —
Upcoming Concerts

Down 4 the Count is best classifed as a 5- person a cappella vocal jazz ensemble based in Los Angeles - but they don’t let any of those labels limit them. They perform award-winning original arrangements in a variety of styles, from jazz to rock to folk to country, and more. As most members of the ensemble are also skilled instrumentalists, they will occasionally accompany themselves. Down 4 The Count members have worked with or shared the stage with Rockapella, Inga Swearingen, Phil Collins, Chaka Khan, Dave Koz, The Tower of Power Horns, Ringo Starr, Mellisa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, Kevin Mohogany, Gretchen Parlato, Judy Collins, Lionel Loueke, Louie Bellson...etc Despite this, they defnitely don’t take themselves too seriously.

Suggested Donation $15 or $45 for the series of four concerts.  Children under 10 free.

DeBenneville Winter Weekend

All Church Family Weekend! — March 2,3 & 4, 2012 in the snow at DeBenneville Pines

Camp DeBenneville Pines is a Unitarian Universalist District Camp located in the mountains of Big Bear. Each year, our congregation reserves the camp during the sledding season, and our 2012 reservation weekend is Mar 2-4. There are heated cabins, with bathrooms and hot shower facilities, including handicapped accessible facilities.

Come one, come all! Families, couples, individuals, grandparents and grandchildren! From two to ninety-two, we welcome you!

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the activities that await you from Friday evening through Sunday brunch: crafts for all ages and abilities, hiking, delicious dining, singing, s’mores around the fireplace in the lodge, amazing meals, snow play if the weather cooperates, music making, outdoor games, and lots of surprises!

Fee schedule includes lodging in cabins with bathrooms, five sumptuous meals (and snacks) in the dining hall, and 48 hours of programs and activities.

The kitchen staff serves up warm, nutritious meals for everyone's needs (picky child eaters too). Join us as we take walks in the woods, sled down "suicide hill", gather for discussion groups, play board games, or simply sit by the fire and read a book. DeBenneville Pines weekend is a chance to develop deep connections with fellow UUCLB members & friends.

Please stop by our table after Sunday services in Jan & Feb to register and pick your cabin. To answer any questions speak to Donna Herman, Cheryl Kessler, Edie Mickey-Silveria, Karen Mourikas or call the church office!
