Film - Burma VJ

movieprojectorFriday, August 13, 7PM in Wylder Hall —

August's Eco-justice film will be "Burma VJ." This 2009 Oscar nominated documentary chronicles the 2007 uprising in Myanmar using hidden cameras. Foreign news crews were banned but the independent journalist group Democratic Voice of Burma, a group of underground video journalists,  recorded the historic event and smuggled their cameras out of the country, all at great personal risk.

Jim Roberts the Amnesty International USA country specialist for Myanmar/Burma will attend to participate in discussion after the films.

No cost but bring your own snacks.
