This is the list for many of our on-going adult programs. Most events are held on the church grounds and we have noted the location of each program.

We especially invite non-members to participate in church programs. For more information, call the church during office hours.

Adult Classes and Study Groups

Bleep Study Group

This ongoing study group Explores "...the way we participate in an unfolding, dynamic reality. ...opening to the vast universe takes all our ways of knowing: the rigors of science, the powers of imagination, embodied wisdom and mystical vision." (excerpted from What the Bleep Do We Know!?, A Study Guide, Presented by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Captured Light Industries) Areas of study include Paradigm Shift, Quantum Reality, Creating Our Days, and Healing the Past.

Discovery Forum For Singles

Every Sunday evening in January at 6:30 PM in the Lounge.

"Discovery" is a discussion group where people can meet and talk about topics of special interest to singles in a supportive environment. For Additional Information, contact Roger Grunke (562) 420-1034.

Bridge

Whether you are an advanced player or a novice, you are welcome to join this convivial group of players who gather weekly to shuffle and deal, bid and double, and socialize.

Buddhist Study/Meditation Groups
Our focus is on the psychological insights of Buddhism. Through readings and meditations we share practical ways of enhancing our religious values.

Quarterly Buddhist Retreat
January 2007, details to be announced. A half-day retreat will be led by Barbara Reinhart.

Challenges (book discussion)
Members of this study group select from fields of science, religious, politics, and philosophy. Participants contribute to the discussion from their areas of interest. On-going book study.

Choir Practice
There is a “singer” in all of us. This is your chance to fulfill a lifetime fantasy. Come join the weekly practice session of one of the better church choirs around.

 Literature Book Club
Monthly discussion of late 20th and early 21st century books.

Dine with 7 or 9
Spend an evening in the relaxed company of members and friends of UUCLB. Every other month you will be invited to join a potluck group and, once a year, to host a dinner in your home (or in the Lounge).
Day & Time: Last Saturday of each odd month.
Place: Participants’ homes. Cost: Dish to share.

Discovery for Singles
A human relations groups for single adults. Join us each and every Sunday evening for socializing and a lively discussion on a subject of interest to single adults.

We gather to share our dreams.

Poetry
Poetry lovers get together for readings and discussion every fifth Sunday in the Lounge.

UU Men's Federation
All men in all age groups are invited to come share ideas and energy about men’s issues and personal attitudes.

Day & Time: 2nd and 4th Fridays, 7:30 P.M.

UU Women's Federation (currently inactive)
UUWF is a local chapter of about 40 members, an evolving, responsive organization in which participants determine goals. Monthly meeting format includes Wisdom Circles, speakers, occasional celebrations, sharing library; and local retreats.

Work Party
Join a dedicated group of hard workers willing to give up part of a Saturday once a month to keep the building and grounds in order. Lunch served.

Writers' Salon
A supportive place to share your creative works. Bring a piece of your writing or artwork to the Writers Salon.
